Hey,

This is the first post for my blog SOUR GRAPE JAM!

And I know you're probably thinking, you're creating a blog in 2026?

In so many ways, I think simplicity and creativity is craved in this generation. And I realized, we don't always have to recreate the wheel.

Life is already hard enough.

Then we blink 3 times and another year passes. Before we know it, its December 28, and you're sitting at home, watching TV and creating another vision board.

You work, you eat right, you go to church, you run errands, you stress, you sleep and then you do it all over again. Without taking any time out for yourself and for you passions.

I know Dory told us to "just keep swimming" but sometimes we have to come up for air.

Because our true passions keep us from drowning.

So, as a reward to you for reading, here is a recipe for you to create your own jam and add some more whimsy to your life.

Ingredients You Will Need

To make your homegrown jam, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of self care: Look for fresh and ripe forms of relaxation.

  • 1 cup of creativity: Let your mind wonder.

  • 1 tablespoon of uniqueness: This enhances your flavor.

  • 1/4 teaspoon of accessorizing: Balances your creativity and uniqueness.

  • 1/2 cup of grounding: Optional, for a smoother flow.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare and Self Care

  1. Prioritize your rest: Make sure you are getting 7-9 hours of rest daily.

  2. Move your Body: Carefully engage in physical activity by walking, running or dancing for 20-30 minutes daily.

  3. Find a Hobby: Use your hands in creative activities. Whether its painting, crocheting, gaming etc.

Step 2: Cook your creativity and uniqueness

  1. Find some Inspo: Pinterest is a great app for finding inspiration. Just make sure to not overdo your screen time.

  2. Heat your Pen: Grab your pen or pencil and a journal or a sketchbook and let your mind flow.

  3. Check your Energy: If your energy is off in any way, take a step back to the previous step or move to the next step to process.

Step 3: Ground the Jam

  1. Fill your lungs: Take a deep breath. Close your eyes. Inhale and exhale.

  2. Seal all Distractions: Put your phone on DND and take a break. Revisit step 1 if needed.

  3. Process the Connection: Connect yourself with nature. Take a visit to your local park or take a walk outside.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Jam

Once you've completed the steps above to find your flow, here are some ideas on how to use your jam:

  • Spread the positivity around, give a compliment to someone else. Just be kind to others.

  • Use it as a filling for your passions.

  • Have gratitude! Take a moment for gratefulness.

Add a spoonful to your meals everyday.

Conclusion

Everything we need, we already have.

For years, I've wanted to create a platform that speaks to my authentic self.

After many years and many eras, I have come to the realization about myself that I fear I always knew.

And that is tbh, I don't fit into any aesthetic.

I am just me. Flaws and all.

So, I hope you gather your ingredients, follow the steps, and savor the delightful taste of your own homegrown jam.

Welcome to Sour Grape Jam!

All my luv <3

Gwenie.
